Nice work, Steviemac.  Multi-talented, I see.

I wonder if I'll ever have time to do something like that again.... ;)

Thanks Teach.

The chopper was definitely a time intensive project.  The cafe racer was a much simpler build but still a fair bit of fabrication.

Hopefully next winter will allow more time for projects than this one has.   My Kawi Police bike is getting close to completion though....

Thanks.  I cut and modified the stock seat pan and then had it re-upholstered here: http://www.openroadupholstery.com/

I made the tail section out of a Harley Sportster gas tank.  They are two seperate pieces.  The seat still hinged open to provide access to a little bit of storage space.

I love the caf? look - beautiful work. I just can't imagine riding it to Oregon. Each bike for it's purpose I guess.

That one's for making people drool.

A friend of mine in high school had a CB400F I4 (I think they call that bike the 'Silken Scream'), the sound of that thing in the quiet country mornings (he used to pick me up for work) made my hair stand up. Great sound.

Thanks.  I never road the caf? all that far.  I still have permanent damage from that friggen seat!  Looked cool though  8)

I rode the chopper to Tacoma and back in a single day once though.  Had to go do a presentation down there for work and the chop was the only bike I had on the road at the time & it’s not like I was about to take a car!  The spring seat on the chop was actually plenty comfy.  Wasn’t a bad ride at all.

Yes the CB400s are something.  My personal favourites of the old Hondas are the CB500/550s though.  Might just have to have another if I find the right one at the right time.  Sometimes they just follow you home….

The bike had already been chopped and hard-tailed when I got it but I ended up cutting the frame apart and to some extent starting again.

Indeed it was, although you would never recognize it as such by just looking at it.  It looked completely different when it was done.
